2025 Fantasy Baseball Rankings from Mr. Cheatsheet

Fantasy baseball seasons come and go like the sands of time, but fantasy baseball rankings are eternal.

Fantasy baseball seasons come and go like the sands of time, but fantasy baseball rankings are eternal. During our draft days, they are ways to synthesize research and effort into one consumable list. Instead of reading through sleeper articles and research, you can load up rankings and see who an expert really prefers and really wants to avoid. Then, a draft season goes away and the season happens, but these rankings remain little reminders about what the season was supposed to look like. Then, before the next season, there are people out there who analyze which experts did the best job at predicting the future the previous season. I’m getting ahead of myself though.

Today, I present to you my 2025 fantasy baseball rankings with all of the research and insight that I have dumped into them. My sleepers are going to be ranked a little higher than other sites. Players with great Special Blend projections may get a little nudge up in the rankings as well. All in all, it’s a way to look and see just what I was thinking on my draft days in the 2025 season.

Early Round Surprises

Ain’t nothing wrong with a .300 hitter who hits 35 HRs like Yordan Alvarez.

In the first two rounds, you’ll see that I have Yordan Alvarez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Tarik Skubal ranked higher than most. I have them as picks to grab in the middle of the first round as opposed to second rounders that most other rankings have them as. For Alvarez and Guerrero, I see them both as potential .300 hitters with 35 HRs and 100 RBIs each and, personally, I think that’s way more valuable than some of the other options in that area. Tarik Skubal, meanwhile, just gets a boost because my Special Blend projections see him as being in such a clear tier above the next SP options. He truly seems a step above everyone else this year.

Sleeper Boosts

Joc Pederson, hitting cleanup in Texas, is way higher on my rankings than most other experts this year.

If you’ve read my recent sleeper articles, you won’t be surprised to see some jumps in the rankings for these players within my top 200:

  • Tanner Bibee (SP, CLE) – 70 ranking versus 89 FantasyPros rank
  • Hunter Greene (SP, CIN) – 80 ranking versus 97 FantasyPros rank
  • Joe Ryan (SP, MIN) – 75 ranking versus 99 FantasyPros rank
  • Sonny Gray (SP, STL) – 88 ranking versus 103 FantasyPros rank
  • Jack Flaherty (SP, DET) – 110 ranking versus 130 FantasyPros rank
  • Carlos Rodon (SP, NYY) – 115 ranking versus 137 FantasyPros rank
  • Ryan Pepiot (SP, TB) – 122 ranking versus 176 FantasyPros rank
  • Reynaldo Lopez (SP, ATL) – 140 ranking versus 166 FantasyPros rank
  • Yusei Kikuchi (SP, LAA) – 145 ranking versus 171 FantasyPros rank
  • Joc Pederson (DH, TEX) – 158 ranking versus 256 FantasyPros rank
  • Matt Wallner (OF, MIN) – 183 ranking versus 257 FantasyPros rank

There will always be some unknowns over the course of a season but, on paper, these are all players that I see having significant boosts to their numbers this season if luck is on their side (and our side). I’d draft any of these guys with a fair amount of confidence this season.
