I unveiled my majorly updated 2017 fantasy baseball cheatsheets just a couple weeks ago. Since then, new data has been released, including my own projections, and there’s also been lots of ideas, suggestions and bug fixes coming up in the comments here. It goes without saying that a big update was due and today is that day!
First off, no, I sadly didn’t get every single request in. There were a lot. Many of them were great ideas but were things that would have required too many hours to be able to accomplish so they’ll likely have to wait until next year’s version. I’m still pretty pleased with what got into this 2.0 version of the 2017 cheatsheets though and I think you’ll dig them too.
What’s New In Version 2.0?
All of the sheets now have updated projections and now have my Special Blend projections included in them. All of the roto sheets now have a few extra categories to choose from too (Extra Base Hits, Net Saves, Blown Saves being some of the big ones). But, aside from that, the Roto Auction sheet had some big tweaks:
- In the Roto Auction sheet, you can now choose whether you want your projected draft values to be inflated based on player position or not. In the past, catchers (or other weak positions) typically got a boost because, well, everyone has to draft a catcher so even the weak ones have value. This resulted in values being “position-adjusted” but that might not be what works for everyone. So, on the Settings page, you can now choose whether you want your values to have that adjustment or not.
- You can also set individual team budgets in the Roto Auction sheet. I’ve heard of some keeper leagues that involve sacrificing future draft dollars thus resulting in teams entering the year with different draft budgets to begin with. Now, you can reflect that in the sheets with custom team budgets.
Those are probably the biggest feature changes of everything. But, there were numerous reported bugs that were fixed included an issue with Net Stolen Bases causing some wackiness.
Cheatsheet Options
If you haven’t used this cheatsheet before, you’ll see that it is designed to accommodate nearly any type of fantasy baseball league imaginable. And, believe me, there’s more league variations than you could even imagine. That being said, it can be a bit overwhelming to see so many options for a new user. To get started, I’d just enter your league settings on the Settings page and leave most things with their default settings and dive in. If you don’t like the data you’re seeing, go back to the Settings page and maybe try some other Projections or Rankings on there until it looks good to you.
Once the draft is going, enter your picks into the sheet and see your Standings and data start to adapt and change for your specific league. The idea is that the cheatsheet will give you data and values that are completely unique to your specific league type.
WERTH Values (Roto Leagues)
If you’re playing in a roto league, you may notice that these cheatsheets have a WERTH value for each player. These are essentially z-scores in each roto category based on your league setting. The cheatsheets calculate who the projected league starters would be and then use that to calculate league averages and standard deviations in each category. Using that data, it then says how far above average each person is in that category (z-score) so a positive WERTH value means that player will contribute positively for your team. This is all dependent on your league settings which makes these values completely unique to your league.

Troubleshooting
At this point, draft season is in full swing and there likely won’t be major changes to the cheatsheets from now until Opening Day. That being said, if there are things not working correctly, let me know in the comments so I can fix them and upload a new version. I’ll also likely upload another minor update or two with up-to-date projections and data.
Also, for Points Leagues, there will be an update coming soon that will add in a few more point category options. I didn’t have the time to get those added into this update.
Keep checking back here to see the latest version available though.
Donations
I said it in my initial release but, ho boy, these cheatsheets take a lot of work to create. Between creating them and responding to everyone’s issues at times, it becomes a full-time job for me in February and March even though I opt to put these out here for free. I appreciate anyone who is willing to donate a couple bucks as a way of saying thanks for this work. It helps me keep the site online and gives me the motivation to keep making these each year. You certainly don’t have to though because I want these to be free! Regardless, later on, let me know if you win your leagues because I always love hearing that too! But if do you want to buy me a coffee or a beer, the donate button is below:
Have a great draft weekend everyone!

03/16/2017 at 6:38 AMOn the Roster page, it still only shows projected stats for batters and nothing for pitchhers using v2.0
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 7:47 AMI’ve never been able to recreate that issue so I assume there must be a specific setting causing it. Can you send a copy of your sheet with the issue to luke at mrcheatsheet.com?
Eric L.
03/16/2017 at 5:18 PMIt has been sent and I think I found the problem in the settings which I included in the email. If you set SP and RP to 0 with P at 9 as my league only cares you have 9 pitchers total, the pitching projections to not transfer over to the Teams tab
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 5:48 PMOkay. I probably won’t have a chance to look at it until tomorrow but that makes sense. Should be able to quickly fix that.
Chuck
03/16/2017 at 8:23 PMThat’s the same problem I’ve been having, and I set the SP and RP to 0 and the P to 9 also.

03/16/2017 at 10:17 AMthanks again Luke for your generous hard work.
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 12:48 PMNo problem, man! Thanks for the kind words. It makes me happy to see people appreciating the sheets!
AB
03/16/2017 at 10:45 AMIs ‘Hits’ available as a Pitching stat category?
AB
03/16/2017 at 1:03 PMIt looks to have disappeared in the (Roto) update…
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 1:28 PMIt’s there, I just made a slight name change to it so it could better fit in the columns. It is now called ‘Hits’. If you are loading previous settings, you may need to select that again on Settings page.
AB
03/16/2017 at 1:31 PMReloaded the sheet and it’s there! So strange. Thanks for all of your hard work!!!
AB
03/16/2017 at 2:24 PMI worked out what happened. When I selected ‘Hits’ as a Batting category, it removed the ‘Hits’ option from the Pitching category. Thus, I manually typed it in. Hope that works OK.
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 5:48 PMAh yes. That makes sense. I need to tweak something in there. I’ll take a look at it tomorrow
matt
03/16/2017 at 12:22 PMThanks for the sheet! Is there a way to sort by pos adj werth instead of total?
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 12:50 PMUnfortunately not. I tried to add it into this version but it causes some nasty data loops. I may be able to get it to work in a later version but I was stumped at the time.
Randy
03/16/2017 at 12:33 PMIs there any chance that we could, or you could, bold the projected points column to make it stand out a bit more? Thanks for all your hard work! Won my third championship last year in 6 years last year. That makes 2 flags that you have helped me with!
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 12:53 PMNot a bad idea! But I generally try to avoid bolding things because I don’t want to force people’s attention somewhere since everyone uses the sheet differently (I had somebody recently say the sheet was unusable for them because they could SEE projected values and they wanted to draft blindly without those, for instance). I think you should be able to highlight that column and press Ctrl+B to make it bold on your own though. Not sure if that would work but I was trying to open up the ability for people to highlight things like that if they wanted in this version.
KT
03/16/2017 at 6:12 PMHi Luke. Formatting does still seem to be unavailable on the latest version of the points sheet (sorry, hate to bother you about the same thing again). I can’t do any bolding, highlighting, notes, etc. Any chance this is coming in another version, or should I start working on a new sheet strategy? Thanks.
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 6:28 PMI tried for this update but there’s some complexity to the request because of the way the cheatsheet handles sorting on the main sheet (nobody is ever really assigned to a specific cell so it’s hard to carry formatting with them as the sheet updates). I still have it at the top of my list but wanted to get out this update regardless. I’ll continue to think it over and hopefully come up with something.
KT
03/16/2017 at 6:49 PMEither way, thanks for trying. I’ve been in the money the last two years using your sheets with my formatting, so I’m afraid to change anything!
Greg
03/16/2017 at 12:40 PMIm in a points auction – anything for values for that? I can never find any.
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 12:54 PMI’ll see if I can make one in the next week or so but I’m not sure if I can get it all done in time. There seems to be a growing demand for it in recent seasons.
chris
03/16/2017 at 1:56 PMHi, thanks for the update! Just a quick bug, using the special blend, I noticed Carlos Carrasco stats disappeared in this round (they were there in the prior version). Thanks again!
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 5:49 PMHe doesn’t have a Special Blend projection (CAIRO did not project him for some reason). Try Streamer or another protection to see his value for the time being.
Eric L.
03/16/2017 at 5:40 PMIs there a way to “force” players into a Bench slot? My league doesn’t have Bench slots but we do have Minors slots where we can keep 4 players as long as they meet certain requirements. Less than 150 carrear plate appearences/50 innings pitched.. Some players, like Lucas Giolito, were drafted to a Minors contract a few years ago and qualify to keep the Minors tag to start the year. Using him as an example, If he wasn’t kept but was still in AAA at the end of last season, but he was expected to start the season in the majors, he is eligible to be drafted in the Majors part of the draft. Because of this, I am trying to find a way to add the players with the Minors tag to their current teams as a way to remove them from the draft sheets. Sorry it’s a long winded post but hopefully it’s somewhat understandable what I’m trying to say 🙂
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 5:52 PMI haven’t figured out a way to accomplish this quite yet. It’s on my list of potential improvements but there’s some factors that make it pretty tricky for me to accomplish without some major tinkering.
Eric L.
03/16/2017 at 5:55 PMTotally understandable. I’ll probably just have a sheet of paper next to me with the players with the Minors contract next to me.
Matt
03/16/2017 at 6:22 PMDumb question, but can you rename teams?
Luke Gloeckner
03/16/2017 at 6:29 PMYeah, you set them on the Settings tab.
Steve
03/16/2017 at 7:01 PMHi Luke thanks so much for this. What an awesome tool! I did have a couple questions.
i. In the ‘Positions’ Tab, so I am understanding this correctly, the score assigned in the ‘WTH’ Column is the z score in terms of position, adjusted for the categories you selected in ‘Settings’ Tab? (Roto version)? Also, if that is the case, how come some players in weak positions are still a negative z score? The majority of C are negative WTH.
ii. One category in my league is H/AB. What included stat do you feel would be most appropriate for a proxy? Just plain H?
iii. To ensure I am using this tool most effectively, I should draft players with high WTH regardless of position (while still ensuring all positions end up filled)? Is the thinking something like: While you may have the 1st rated catcher ( Posey) your team would benefit more from an 8th rated SP for example?
Thank you so much!!
Chuck
03/16/2017 at 8:27 PMI also just noticed on the Auction sheet that the option to show projected stats or points isn’t functioning for me. This might be related to the Positions Drafted not working. I’ll sent you my sheet. I’m using the default projections, values and rankings, so it must have something to do with my league settings.
Michael
03/16/2017 at 9:00 PMIs there a reason you don’t do a Points Auction Cheatsheet? Not asking to be snarky, just curious if Im missing something. Last year I used your Points draft cheatsheet and had auctions values pulled seperatley.
Again, just thought I’d ask. These are awesome, BTW.
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:52 PMI hadn’t heard of anyone in a Points Auction league until last year so wasn’t aware they existed until then, nor the demand for them
Steve
03/16/2017 at 11:12 PMFirst off, many thanks for all of your work on these tools! I’ve downloaded the Points Draft Cheatsheet and according to your instructions, I should be able to change player positions on the “Your Points Draft” tab. However, when I try to make an edit it’s requiring me to enter a password to unlock the sheet.
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:45 PMIt’s the column to the left of the player’s names for changing positions.
Steve
03/17/2017 at 4:48 PMSuper, thanks!
Ryan G
03/17/2017 at 3:27 AMIt seems like you added the ESPN auction values in this update based off the Credits page, but it looks like you forgot to add them as an option on the “Site Auction Values” drop-down.
Thanks a lot for making these by the way; you do a great job.
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:44 PMAh, yeah, that could be. I won’t have a chance to do any updates for the next day or so but I’ll keep that in mind.
Wah Chan
03/17/2017 at 9:28 AMHey Luke, i know this was asked but i totally forgot. For H2H leagues, you would use the Points Draft cheatsheet correct?
Also, another question, how come in Settings tab, when i change the Projections to Use, there doesn’t seem to be any changes in the rankings (Your Points Draft tab), no matter which one i choose.
Thanks
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:43 PMIf you’re in a H2H points league then, yeah, I’d do the Points Draft sheet. As far as Rankings, they are based on which Expert Rankings you choose on the Settings page.
Rob
03/17/2017 at 11:32 AMHey man, thanks for this. When I enter an NL only league. the projected value goes blank. Am I doing something wrong?
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:42 PMIs the related to one specific projection (you have 10 to choose from)? Which sheet is this happening in?
Brian Silvestri
03/17/2017 at 11:55 AMHello, I plan to use your auction tool based upon a recommendation of another owner in my league. There are some constraints that I am finding, that I would like clarification on. For background, my league is a 10 category AL auction league. We have 9 pitchers. I set the SP and RP to 0 and P to 9, and the Projected Standings are not calculating for ERA and WHIP and the stats for the RP are not showing on the Teams tab. In addition, due to the depth of the league (12 teams with 2 C required per team), I need more players in my pool than available. I am having trouble importing more players. Can you explain the process to do this? I would like my player pool to be every player on an AL roster.
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:42 PMHey, yeah, I’ve heard about some people having issues with setting 0 SP and 0 RP. I haven’t had a chance to do a fix yet but I’ll try to get it fixed soon. As far as using more players, it doesn’t have that ability (there would be no projection data for them in there). I can try to get more guys added in for my next update if you want to give me a list of guys that you can add. Not sure how many I’ll be able to add in though since it takes a bit of work on my end for each player to add in with adding in all of their projections and calculations and such. It certainly wouldn’t be every single player on an MLB roster though. Sorry about that.
David S
03/17/2017 at 2:10 PMHey Luke
There seems to be something up with the Imported Projections for Pitchers. For example, if I put a projected value for BB in Column T in the Import (Projections) tab, the sheet is reading that as the K value on the Your Roto Auction tab.
Also, I know that it’s a pain to add new categories but if you had a minute to add H/9 as a pitching stat.
Thanks!
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:35 PMAhh, yes, I think I might know what’s going on with that. I’ll check it out when I get a chance and hopefully update it tomorrow maybe. I’m not around today unfortunately.
Sal
03/17/2017 at 2:32 PMHi – It seems that some of the DH’s that appear on the roto position tiers are missing from the cheatsheet.
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:30 PMThey should all be in the cheatsheet (same source of data for both) but you likely don’t see them on the Positions tab. Just the Draft/Auction tab itself.
JSK19
03/17/2017 at 3:02 PMHi, how do I get errors to count? I’ve selected them in settings as one of my roto categories. Doesn’t look like anyone does projections so I was going to use 2016 stats. This sheet is what Ive been looking for, thanks!
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:30 PMYeah, unfortunately, I hadn’t found any projections for them this year. The source I had in the past didn’t do projections this year. So, I’ve still been hunting for them. At the moment, there aren’t any error projections in there.
Jsk19
03/18/2017 at 10:33 AMToo bad. I was just going to use last years errors as an approximation. How would I add them? Thanks
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 12:51 PMI’d have to add them in during an update. I think I will add last year’s values into the sheet for an approximation, like you said. I’ve been travelling so haven’t been able to do updates but I’ll do that in my next update here (my apologies if your draft already happened though).
Jer
03/22/2017 at 11:53 AMThat will be awesome. Draft is this coming Sunday 🙂
AB
03/17/2017 at 3:05 PMIt looks like quite a few of the DH’s (Encarnacion, Cruz, Trumbo, etc.) aren’t appearing in the Positions tab?
Luke Gloeckner
03/17/2017 at 4:29 PMYeah, that’s correct. The DH doesn’t have a column in the Positions tab at the moment.
Sly
03/17/2017 at 9:42 PMI was able to change the position from one player and then the option stopped working. If I select another position for a player I see the sheet trying to compute but nothing changes at the end.
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 12:49 PMInteresting. I’ll check it out. I haven’t had that happen to me so I’ll have to see what variables might cause something like that for others. I have been travelling this weekend so haven’t had been able to investigate yet.
Sly
03/21/2017 at 6:58 PMOk I found the problem, when you change the position from a player you need to wait for the change to apply, if you click anywhere on the sheet it will cancel the operation.
Newell
03/18/2017 at 10:27 AMLove your work, thanks!!
On the Draft Log page, is it possible to shade the cell whenever the draft order is manually changed? It is a minor, if not tiny, thing, however I like that visual reminder that a change in the order is upcoming. There are a fair # of picks involved in our leagues off season trade and if I am able to highlight changes to a draft order in any particular round its a visual reminder to take an extra moment and consider who is making a pick out of order and consider what team/player’s they are known to favour who may not last until a later round.
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 12:50 PMI like that idea! I’ll add that in for my next update here (I’ve been travelling so haven’t been able to do updates this weekend so I apologize if your draft already happened).
Newell
03/20/2017 at 9:53 PMGreat, Thanks, and no need to apologize!
Sly
03/21/2017 at 6:42 PMOk I found the problem, when you change the position from a player you need to wait for the change to apply, if you click anywhere on the sheet it will cancel the operation.
Eric L.
03/18/2017 at 12:30 PMCurrently doing the auction roto draft and the max bid is short by $1 for example…
Columbus Scharks $52 12 $17 $41
So 52-11 does equal 41, however, one of those 11 gets an extra dollar to make max bid actually $42
Chuck
03/18/2017 at 12:50 PMIf you have $52 and 12 players left to get, you can only bid up to $41 on the next player. Then you’d have $11 left for 11 players. If you got that player for $42, you’d have $10 left for 11 players, which doesn’t work.
Eric L.
03/18/2017 at 12:59 PMThe 12 players that show , however, is the number of players currently drafted, not the number still needed to be drafted. So for a team of 23 players, you subtract the 12 to get 11 players left to draft. Hence, the Max bid is still off. So it’s easy to see…
Previous example
Columbus Scharks $52 12 $17 $41
Current example
Columbus Scharks $30 13 $18 $20
As you can see, Avail $ went down, # players went up, Spent went up, Max Bid went down. So now that there are 13 players on the team, only 10 are left to be drafted. Subtract 9 from 30 leaves $21 for the Max Bid.
Ray
03/18/2017 at 3:23 PMObviously Fantastic work!! Couple of issues I see.
1. – For the Roto Sheets / On the Your Roto Draft Tab / Viewing Options for “Show Werth Values” – Seems to be using the “Show Neither Function” or is not working.
2. – Looks like your special blend is missing projections for a few players – Carrasco (SP Indians) is noticeable, but see it for a few others.
3. – Question more than a statement – Related to Settings for Roster Size for Pitchers “P” which is presumably similar for “DH”. When I set that to the Max for our league which is 3 it greatly devalues the Relief Pitchers. However, if I switch it so that figure is 0 and RP is 3 they go to the max. My question is does the Werth based on settings take into cosideration that you could have 3 closers. I suspect not.
Thanks again!!
Thanks Very Much!!
03/18/2017 at 5:14 PMSorry One More – Ideally in the Roto Draft “Your Roto Draft Column” – You should be able to sort by “Pos Adj WERTH”??
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 1:01 PMYeah, I’ve tried to add ability to sort by Pos Adj WERTH buuuut there’s some issues with that. One of the tricky things with these sheets is there’s always a high risk for creating Circular References when doing certain things. Sorting by Pos Adj WERTH is one of those examples. I haven’t had time to address what could get around that Circular Reference to allow for that sorting but it’s on my list, yeah.
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 12:59 PMGood notes. I’ll check out to see what’s up with the Show WERTH Values. I should be able to fix that fairly quickly when I get a chance. The Special Blend projections cannot project a player if one of the six projections doesn’t have a projection for him so CC and a bunch of closers aren’t included. I may do a version that has some sort of different method for those players but have been swamped with stuff so haven’t had a chance.
The WERTH values do account for that. It calculates the optimal league starters based on your settings. So, with 12 teams and 5 SP, 1 RP and 3 P… it would go through and plug in the top valued players for 60 SP, 12 RP and the next 36 highest-valued Pitchers and those would be the starters. Replacement-level would be based off that for Position-Adjusted values. Now, the values of course vary based on league settings and roto categories and such.
Ken
03/20/2017 at 11:39 PMI am in an auction league, 24 players per team, budget 270, if I bid 247 on player 1 then max bid should show $1, but shows $0 so I think there is an issue there
Jacob
03/18/2017 at 11:10 PMI have been using cheatsheets for a coupe of years, but for some reason, I cannot unlock this one. I did just get a new Mac computer last month and can’t figure out how. Can anyone help me out?
Thank you
Luke Gloeckner
03/19/2017 at 1:01 PMHmmm… Interesting. What do you mean by unlock? What are you trying to do that is not working?
Thanks!!
03/20/2017 at 11:21 AMHappy to help with the projections if you want, it should be fairly easy to update that to ignore blanks or to develop a proxy if,then, else for proxying a missing projections… – Good News is it only impacts about 20 players – And I really don’t want any of them…
Patrick Kelly
03/19/2017 at 8:01 PMLoving using this so far! One question though. I’ve changed the positions for several players on the “Your Points Draft” tab, but they aren’t showing up in those positions in the roster tab. Some of them I changed after the draft started, not sure if that’s the issue or if I’m doing something wrong!
Wade
03/20/2017 at 2:24 PMAwesome sheet for a noob to fantasy baseball like myself. Thanks for the hard work! RAY above mentioned “1. – For the Roto Sheets / On the Your Roto Draft Tab / Viewing Options for “Show Werth Values” – Seems to be using the “Show Neither Function” or is not working.”
I also encountered this issue. It only shows overall and ADJ Werth values, not individual stat Werth values. Then I tried transferring my data from the 1.05 edition over to the 2.0, but the “Show Werth Values” then just gives each player the same Werth values across the board. For example, Miguel Cabrera has 2’s under every category, even Steals, which seems odd.
Tom
03/20/2017 at 3:56 PMI keep getting an error message on the Your Roto Auction tab, “Compile error in hidden module: Sheet23” Any tips?
Tom
03/20/2017 at 4:07 PMThis is on the roto auction cheatsheet
Luke Gloeckner
03/20/2017 at 4:56 PMGood catch. I got it fixed, if you download again.

03/20/2017 at 5:09 PMFirst off, thanks for all your hard work. I’m having an issue of getting a Compile error in hidden module: Sheet23. Happens when I go to Save and Load and when I click around in the Your Roto Auction. I’m using the Roto Auction Cheatsheet. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Luke Gloeckner
03/20/2017 at 5:11 PMI just uploaded a new version about 10 minutes ago that should fix this. Was this in Version 2.10 or 2.11 (I just uploaded 2.11)?
Hunter
03/20/2017 at 5:36 PM2.10. Must have downloaded it just before you went to the new version :P. I’ll grab that one then. Thanks so much!
Luke Gloeckner
03/20/2017 at 5:40 PMCool! Let me know if you’re still having troubles with this new one! And, make sure you close out of Excel altogether before opening this new one. If the old one is still open, it may cause some weirdness, I think.
Hunter
03/20/2017 at 5:44 PMCan confirm. No errors popping up in 2.11. Thanks again!
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 3:54 PMWoohoo! Thanks for letting me know.

03/20/2017 at 5:53 PMThe 2.0 update is tight, Luke. Thanks!

03/20/2017 at 7:17 PMIf you get a chance, could you please add the ability to show total projected stats to the Projected Standings page? I’m pretty we had a choice of stats or points in an earlier version. Right now we can only see the points

03/21/2017 at 10:48 AMPrepping for my divisions dynasty fantasy baseball draft. Stumbled upon this gold mind, and now I’m a believer. This is a great resource. Thank you for your time and energy put into such a great product. I have a question. We get 10 keepers per team this season. Some of the teams decided to keep prospects that are not in the system. How do I account for those players so that way each team has 35 players on the roster? Thanks man!
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 3:57 PMGood question. You should be able to enter “Unlisted Player” for those teams that have players not in the sheet. I’m going to try to do an update this week that should have some additional players in it but I’m sure you’ll still have some missing so I’d do the Unlisted Player option for those.
Tony G
03/22/2017 at 1:23 PMHi Luke,
I used the Unlisted Player option (Unlisted Player 1). The “Your Roto Auction” and “Auction Log” updated correctly, however, the Unlisted Player did not get added to the player counts on “Projected Standings” and “Rosters” nor is the $ amount paid being taken into the calculations for amounts remaining and such. Unlisted Player also does not show up in the list on “Teams”
Thanks again for all your hard work. The more I play around with this, the more I bow down to your Excel prowess. Mr. Excel who?

03/21/2017 at 3:49 PMThanks for all your hard work Luke! I am trying to put this on paper like I have in years past and get rid of a few categories so I can see it all on one page. It’s asking for a password, can you give us this or no?
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 4:00 PMAre you trying to hide columns on the Draft/Auction page? I believe you should be able to do that. You shouldn’t be able to delete columns though because it’ll break a lot of formulas based on column numbers and such. I guess, what do you specifically mean by “get rid of a few categories”?
Nate Wiltse
03/21/2017 at 4:18 PMJust wanted to hide the drafted by column so I can see the 5 category projections. When I try to hide the column it says it’s protected and read only. I never remember having a problem in years past.
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 4:26 PMAh, okay. I’ll check it out. I thought I had enabled the ability to hide columns in these 2.0 versions but maybe I missed it.
Nate Wiltse
03/21/2017 at 4:49 PMLooks like it’s just the roto cheatsheet. The others I am able to hide columns.
Bart
03/21/2017 at 4:16 PMFirst of all thank you so much for the time and effort you’ve put into this from the Netherlands! I’ll be playing in a ESPN Head-to-Head: Most Categories league with 12 teams. Can you advise on what scores to enter in the Points Draft Cheatsheet? Should I just put more ‘weight’ on the categories I’d like to emphasize? Keep up the good work, all the best from Holland!
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 4:30 PMHi Bart! I’ve always wanted to visit the Netherlands. It looks like a wonderful place. I’m not completely familiar with that league type but I *think* it is a H2H roto league actually. So I’d download the Roto Draft cheatsheet and choose whichever categories your league uses on there! Try that out and let me know if I can further assist.

03/21/2017 at 4:26 PMI love the excel techniques you deployed here, beyond exceptional. Particularly a fan of the last name alphabetical sort of players in drop down lists, but the format is first name last name. Thank you for your hard work.
I am having an issue with the pitcher auction values loading in the “Your Roto Auction” wks Projected value columns and the Positions wks Auction value columns for pitchers. Any tips on what settings are preventing these calculations?
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 4:45 PMWell, first off, thank you! I’m always happy to hear that people can appreciate all of the little things that went into these sheets, even as “minor” as the unique sorting options like that. So, are you saying that the pitcher auction values are not loading on either sheet there? Or am I misunderstanding the issue?
Tony G
03/21/2017 at 4:56 PMI went back and read some of the earlier comments and it is tied to the fact that for projections I was using the custom option and included CAIRO projections in there. When I selected a singular projections option, all the projected $ values populated on both sheets. Thank you.
Luke Gloeckner
03/21/2017 at 4:59 PMAhh, yes. I saw some comments about that but I’ve been out of town and haven’t had a chance to really look into that bug yet. Hope to have it fixed ASAP though.
Matt
03/23/2017 at 1:57 AMYeah, i’m seeing blank projected value for pitchers when the projection systems are Fangraphs – Fans, Special Blend, or Custom Combination. I’m not sure it’s tied to CAIRO. Hope this helps.
Steve
03/21/2017 at 10:18 PMDo you think you will be creating a Points Auction Cheatsheet this week, based on the # of requests?
Trevor
03/21/2017 at 11:02 PMLuke, first off, great work on this spreadsheet! As someone who lives in Excel on a daily basis this is awesome! My league is strange in that it operates on a 26,000,000 budget with 50,000 being the minimum for a player. That being said on the Players tab as well as the Projected Standings tab the number is too large and I get the “#####” in the cell. Same thing if I try to to set the league budget at 26,000 and 50 minimum. I do all that rambling to ask is there a way to unlock those sheets to allow for formatting of column widths or formatting of cells?
Chuck
03/22/2017 at 7:43 AMHave you tried setting it to $260, and the minimum to $0.50?
Trevor
03/22/2017 at 9:13 AMYes, and that works somewhat. Going that route I would like for the number to go out to the first decimal place which would still require some formatting.
Chuck
03/22/2017 at 10:00 AMEasy enough. Just format the cells, using Currency, and set the number of decimals to whatever you want. I just tested it on v 2.11, and there’s no protection preventing you from doing that.
Trevor
03/22/2017 at 4:55 PMI am still not able to do this on the “Players” tab or the “Projected Standings” tab. I can format the cells on the “Your Roto Auction” which I think is what you are referring to here.

03/22/2017 at 2:21 PMIs there a way to add players to the pool of available players to draft? I am in an NL only keeper league, and there are a few keepers and other MILB players that will be drafted that aren’t in the player pool.
Luke Gloeckner
03/22/2017 at 2:25 PMUnfortunately not a way to add new players to the pool at the moment. I’d suggest to choose Unlisted Players for the time being if there is somebody you want to put in that aren’t in the sheet (the Unlisted Players should be at the bottom of your sheet or drop-down list of players to draft).
DAVEN
03/23/2017 at 12:42 AMHi. First year trying your cheat sheet out. Just curious, is there anyway to add more rounds to the draft section. I play in a 16 man league with 25 rounds. The picks seems to end after pick 327? Am I doing something wrong? Can I update it manually somehow?
Thanks
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 12:45 AMWhich sheet are you using and which page is only showing 327 picks? The Draft Log should go up to 600 picks.
DAVEN
03/23/2017 at 2:24 AMOh I figured it out. It didn’t put the keepers in during rounds, it put them in automatically. So the first is effectively our 18th in this case (17 keepers). That makes sense. Thanks.
Also, is there a way to manually assign draft spots – we had a lot of draft pick trading. For the purpose of a draft only it doesn’t matter, what ever player is picked is a player that I can’t have, but it would have been nice to track who took who during the draft.
Thank you so much.
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 2:31 AMYup, you can change draft picks on the Draft Log tab to match up with draft pick trades.
DAVEN
03/23/2017 at 3:39 AMThanks so much Luke.
Chad carreira
03/23/2017 at 7:49 AMIs there a way to assign a draft round value to a keeper?
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 10:28 AMYes but it’s a little tricky right now. Instead of entering them on the Keeper tab, you’d go to the Draft Log tab and put the keeper into that spot of the draft instead. The spreadsheet logic will know to skip that future pick now. I plan to make that process a little bit easier in the future but that’s the way to go about it for now.
Andre Newell
03/23/2017 at 7:35 PMHi Luke, will you be updating your spreadsheet anytime soon – to account for recent changes like David Price, Carlos Carrasco etc??
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 9:20 PMI’m working to get an update done for tomorrow! Wish me luck 🙂
ANDRE NEWELL
03/23/2017 at 9:35 PMThanks Luke! I’ve got my draft tomorrow, that would be perfect timing!
Chuck
03/23/2017 at 8:13 PMLuke,
Could you please restore the selection of the total stats on the Projected Standings page for the Auction sheet? Pretty please? With sugar on top? 🙂
And if you get a chance, could you possibly implement the suggestion I sent you for the Rosters page?
A donation will be forthcoming soon. (Not to be construed as a bribe)
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 9:22 PMWhat was the suggestion about the Rosters page (sorry, I get tons of e-mails every day so it starts to blend together)? If it was freezing the frames, I put that into the 2.20 update the other day (along with the ability to change positions from that page). I’ll check out the Standings issue before the next update, yeah.
Chuck
03/23/2017 at 9:25 PMI’ll resend the email to you in the next couple minutes.

03/23/2017 at 9:10 PMHey Luke, these updates have been amazing. Any chance of adding in the Special Blend (including Steamer substitutions) for the points sheet? Much appreciated!!
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 9:23 PMYup! Hope to have an update tomorrow with that in it.
Aaron
03/23/2017 at 10:59 PMHey man. Love your work!!! I feel like this has been answered before because it’s so simple, but how do you handle bench positions in the roto draft sheet? Our league has 6 bench positions available.
Luke Gloeckner
03/23/2017 at 11:02 PMHey Aaron. I don’t ask for bench info in the Draft sheets because value is only based on starters so you shouldn’t need to enter that info in! Just your starters!

03/24/2017 at 9:34 AMwhat is the basis for eligible position in the Points League Excel worksheet? Is there a way to modify defined position for given players. I am especially interested in players labeled as DH. There are multiple draftable players (eg. Encarncian and Pujols) that are assigned DH as a position that can be 1B in our league. As a minimum, is there a way to get a list of all DH designated players. When I go to the Points Draft list and sort by DH, I get every hitter not just those labeled as DH.
Thanks for all the hard work.
Luke Gloeckner
03/24/2017 at 9:39 AMTo the left of the player’s name, there is a Change Position column. You can use that to change a player’s designated position.
Jonathan
03/24/2017 at 9:46 AMHey There, How can I update the ADP Rankings for espn, and fantasypros in the sheet? When I select the different adp rankings they don’t seem to change in the your roto draft tab. Even if I put in custom rankings on that tab they don’t come through on the roto draft page.
Thoughts?
Luke Gloeckner
03/24/2017 at 9:51 AMAre you talking about ADP or Rankings because those are two different options in the Settings page. The ADP sites drop-down would change the numbers in the ADP and ADP Rd columns on the Draft page. The Rankings drop-down would change the numbers in the Exp Rank column. Let me know if I’m misunderstanding your question though.
Jonathan
03/24/2017 at 10:00 AMWas referring to the ADP. It does seem like it’s working, I just reloaded the excel sheet. I see fantasypros and others have updated over the past 72 hrs, anyway I can update the rankings on the back end?
Luke Gloeckner
03/24/2017 at 10:02 AMI’m working on an update that would have the latest data. Should be up in the next couple hours.
Jonathan
03/24/2017 at 10:20 AMAwesome!!! Thanks.
How difficult would it be to update manually? I am excel savvy ….just curious
Luke Gloeckner
03/24/2017 at 10:23 AMIt would just be a matter of copy/pasting into the Imported ADP page and then choosing Imported ADP on the Settings page.
Jonathan
03/24/2017 at 10:27 AMCool! I don’t see that in my settings in dropdown for ADP in settings. I’ll just wait for the new version to come out for my draft tonight!
Thanks so much
